Best Maternity Jeans

If you have just learned that you are going to be having a baby, congratulations! Of the many questions and ideas swirling around in your head, materinity clothes is probably something you are wondering about. At some point you know you are going to need to find some new clothes to accomodate your pregnancy figure. You may be tempted to run out now and buy a closet full of maternity clothes. Until your existing wardrobe starts to feel tighter and a little uncomfortable, typically around the fourth month, you do not really need to shop for maternity wear. I initially thought that my maternity clothing choices would be limited to circus tent style dresses and other baggy items but that simply is not the case. Maternity fashions have evolved and even good looking and comfortable plus size maternity clothes are reasonably easy to find. When it does come time to shop for maternity clothing, the good news is that you can outfit yourself in comfortable, stylish maternity clothes that are also versatile like maternity tights and maternity jeans. I spent more time in jeans while pregnant than I ever thought I would be able to, which is a good thing because pregnant or not, I am at my most comfortable in simple tops and jeans.
The Best Maternity Jeans for Me
You can continue to wear your same jeans by using waist band expanders. These attach to your jeans, skirts or shorts and allow your existing clothes to accomodate your growing body. You will see them called belly belts, pants extenders or other similar names at maternity shops. They do work reasonably well and will save you money on maternity clothes, but for sheer comfort and ease of use I also invested in a couple of pairs of maternity jeans.
There are so many different styles of and options for maternity jeans, finding the right pair for you can be downright dizzying. Boot cut, wide leg, skinny leg, with elastic waist band, no elastic...the choices seem endless. You will likely have to try a few before you find the right ones with the biggest challenge being making sure you get a pair that will stay up without fail and without hassle. In terms of finding the right size, I had to go one to two sizes up from my normal size depending on the brand and style.
When it comes to jeans for pregnant women, there are a few different approaches that maternity clothing makers take to ensure that your maternity jeans will fit comfortably and stay up. I tried several pairs and my favorites were the type with the high cotton panel stitched onto the waistband. I found them to be more comfortable and never had to worry about them falling down. Jeans with drawstrings and elastic waists, while easy to get in and out of, did not make me feel confident they would stay up consistently over time. I did consider under belly style jeans with elasticized waists you can let in and out as well, but again I definitely did not want to be out and about constantly tugging at my pants or having to hassle with my jeans so for me the styles with the baby bump panel worked best and felt great.
Maternity jeans are a versatile and comfortable option when it comes to maternity clothing. The best maternity jeans for you will be comortable, well fitting and within your budget. For me maternity jeans were an essential part of my pregnancy wardrobe. There are many different styles and prices range from affordable to expensive. I confess to having splurged a little over my budget for my maternity jeans, however I spent so much time in mine and got so much mileage out of them that the price I ended up paying was worth it to me. If you are on a tight budget, shop around as there are good deals available if you look hard. Second hand stores are always an option as well since many women give their maternity clothes away once their child is born.
